Communications Arts:
Ask your child about how they monitor their comprehension as they read to get a better understanding of what they read.
Questions to ask:
1. What strategies did you use to figure out the unkown words in your reading?
2. What do you do if you don't understand what you read?
3. What strategies do you use to get a deeper understanding of the text?
They have been working hard on inferring and using their schema and background knowledge to form a new ideas as they read.
Social Studies:
We are beginning our unit on the Middle Ages and how it changed Europe! We are excited to see where this takes us in history!
