Why your support is so important
Although Genesis School, Inc. receives funding from government sources, foundations and corporations, it is never enough. Some of our programs and services do not receive adequate funding and many programs could be greatly improved with additional financial support. Genesis relies heavily on the generosity of our supporters to achieve our mission. Perhaps the most important reason to support the Genesis School is that withour us, many young people woulb be out on the streets, never having that second chance to reach their potential.
We serve approximately 300 students year-round from the Kansas City area. Your contribution can make an enormous difference in the life of a student. Learn more about our current funding needs:

Matching Gifts
Did you know that you can double or triple your tax-deductible support of Genesis School through your company's matching gift program? Thousands of companies match charitable contribution made by their employees, some by as much as $2.00 to $1.00...making your gift of $50 worth as much as $150!
The matching gifts process is as easy as 1..2..3, but the impact your gift will have on our students is limitless!
Steps to take:
- Find your company's name on the list. Click here to download the list of companies If not on the list, check with your human resources department to see if they have a matching gift program.
- Obtain instruction from your human resources or personal department.
- Send completed form with your donation and Genesis School will take care of the rest!
Funding Needs Information

Strategic Reading Program: $18,500 * Covers the cost for reading clinicians who provide 60 one-on-one reading sessions for students reading below 2nd grade. |

Online Curriculum for Virtual Students: $25,000 * Covers the purchase of licenses for the online curriculum called Odyssey Ware. This curriculum will allow us to serve students who are home bound or on long term suspension due to safe school violations. Each license cost $750.00. We have laptops available for each student to access the Internet. |

Student & Parent Activities/ Field Experiences: $35,000 * Cover the expenses for student and parent activities, field experiences and summer school incentives (i.e.- admission fees and transportation). |

Fine/Performing Arts Program: $25,000 * Covers the expenses of these two programs under the counseling department. -Two Performing Arts Instructors and purchase of equipment and supplies. - Art Instructor and the purchase of art supplies. |

Supplies and Professional Development Training: $10,000 * Cover the cost of instructional supplies and equipment for the classroom needed to address student’s achievement levels, workshops/training for staff and guest speakers. |

"In Honor of" Recognition or Memorial Gifts
Do you know someone who has everything, wants for nothing personally, and you are stumped looking for the perfect gift? How about making a gift to Genesis School in their honor? Perhaps in recognition of a milestone in their life...graduation, anniversary, wedding, birthday...or other special occasion?
All you need to do is send the name and address of the person that you are making the gift in recognition of with your donation and Genesis School will send a note to the honoree acknowledging your gift.

Planned Gifts
Make a difference for the students of Genesis and yourself - consider an Estate or Legacy gift.
What are planned gifts? Planned gifts include gifts through your will, charitable gift annuities, life insurance, pooled income funds and charitable trusts. A thoughtfully planned estate gift will carry your legacy far beyond your lifetime and help us to ensure the perpetuity of the school.
